(Washington DC) – U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) responded to the proposed deficit plan President Obama released today with the following statement:
“There is no question the President and Congress must address federal spending and the national debt. I support the American public's call for a comprehensive plan that offers real solutions to address the economic and fiscal problems in this country. In 2009, President Obama said that we should not raise taxes during a recession -- I agreed with him then and believe it is the right policy today. Instead of focusing on divisive proposals, Congress and the President can bolster economic growth now by reeling in burdensome regulations, cutting wasteful government spending, and setting the foundation for fundamental tax reform that removes corporate loopholes, which are all necessary for long-term job creation,” said Senator Heller.
