(Washington, D.C.) – Today U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) voted in support of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (S.1925). Heller was the critical 60th cosponsor of this legislation.
“Nevada’s struggling economy has limited state resources to help those who are affected by domestic violence. The reauthorization of VAWA provides greater certainty for organizations that work hard every day to prevent and address domestic violence. This bill enables domestic violence programs to plan for the future and serve even more Americans in need. More importantly, this bill also furthers prevention efforts that will reduce domestic violence and help our nation’s most vulnerable,” said Senator Dean Heller.
The Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act provides vital services for victims and their dependents, helping those affected by domestic violence find safety and opportunities to rebuild their lives.
