Responds to 11th Circuit Court Decision Today
(Washington DC) – Today, U.S. Senator Dean Heller offered the following
statement in response to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling issued on the healthcare law.
“At a time when Nevada is struggling with the highest unemployment rates in the country, the excessive regulations and high costs of the President’s healthcare law are actually impeding job growth for Nevada businesses and families. This court decision is further proof that the healthcare bill was flawed from the very beginning. Ultimately, the U.S. Supreme Court will have the final say on the constitutionality of this bill. Instead of allowing for additional, expensive court battles, the President should work with Congress to find real solutions to healthcare reform so the excessive mandates in this law do not add further to our national debt or continue to stifle economic growth,” said Heller.
In the multi-state lawsuit, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals declared the portion of President Obama’s health care law requiring individuals to carry health insurance as unconstitutional. A copy of the ruling can be found here.
