(Washington, DC) – Today U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) voiced his support to schedule a vote in the U.S. Senate on a Balanced Budget Amendment. Senate Republicans will press for a vote in the coming weeks.

“We must start making the difficult decisions necessary for the future of our country. Our nation’s debt will stifle economic opportunity for our children and grandchildren if we do not correct our present course. While it is critical we cut spending now, it is also important that we set our nation on a long-term fiscally sustainable course. Families and businesses across the country work within a budget, and it is time the federal government did the same. Our government needs a Balanced Budget Amendment to force Washington to live within its means,” said Heller.
