(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) issued the following statement regarding today’s procedural vote to move forward with the Small Business Jobs and Tax Relief Act (S. 2237).

“As Nevada continues struggling with high unemployment, my number one priority is to turn our economy around and get Nevadans back to work. The American people are desperate for jobs and the last thing small businesses need are higher taxes. Times are tough and Congress should focus on long-term economic policies that bolster recovery and provide businesses the certainty they need to create jobs. This bill is far from a silver bullet, and much more needs to be done to encourage economic growth and get people back to work. The Senate should have a real debate on job creation and develop comprehensive policies that reform the tax code, reign in burdensome regulations, and help families stay in their homes,” said Senator Dean Heller.
