U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) today released the below statement on the Department of Justice’s move to ban bump stock devices through proposed regulation.

"Immediately following the horrific tragedy in Las Vegas last October, I had the opportunity to speak with the President about bump stock devices and I urged the Department of Justice to review the Obama-era ruling that permitted the sale of them," said Heller. "While it is impossible to eradicate pure evil from this world, the Administration's move to ban bump stocks is a positive step toward making our communities in Nevada and around this country safer."

On October 6, 2017, Heller urged the Trump Administration’s U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to review an Obama Administration decision that permitted the sale of bump stock devices and issue its own interpretation. Heller’s letter is available HERE.
