U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) today applauded the U.S. Senate’s confirmation of Gary Schofield, the nominee for U.S. Marshal for the District of Nevada at the Department of Justice. Mr. Schofield spent 32 years with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and retired as Deputy Chief in 2017.

“In addition to serving in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Schofield dedicated more than three decades of his life to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He has served the city of Las Vegas – and our country – well,” said Heller. “Given his prior experience in the military and local law enforcement, Mr. Schofield is exceptionally qualified for the role of U.S. Marshal for the District of Nevada. That is why I strongly recommended him for the position, and why I was proud to see the U.S. Senate confirm a great Nevadan today.”

President Trump nominated Mr. Schofield on October 5, 2017, and the U.S. Senate Judiciary unanimously reported his nomination favorably out of committee on February 15,  2018.
